Clay in the Potters Hand

What I have understood reading about the lives of great leaders in Israel’s history, and even recognizing the unseen heroes lost in the background of those stories, like the story of Ruth, is that their walk toward what God had called them to often seem to come to dead ends, shattered hopes and dreams, doubt and suffering. But it wasn’t until their own ideas and dreams where totally lost and surrendered to God, did they see the “big picture” of Gods plan in their lives and more importantly, what God can now do through their lives.

Our hopes and dreams are not necessarily bad and more often than not, good ones, like having a husband or wife, a healthy and happy family or a healthy prosperous bank balance. But sometimes, some of us are called to greater things and the process of letting go of ordinary hopes and dreams that bind us to an ordinary life and goals, can be the hardest thing to go through in order to grasp the greater dream — Gods dream.

His purpose for your life, is usually for the benefit of others, your community, and even to the benefit of other Nations. Don’t let that discourage you because nothing is more fulfilling than being in the center of Gods will. Never give up when you feel like you are being crushed. Your hopes and dreams are being shattered, because God is developing in you the ability to reach beyond the ordinary and building in you the character to live an extraordinary life.
